BIONIC National Seminar 28th April 2010
The BIONIC national Seminar for the UK was held at Blackburne House in Liverpool on 28th April 2010. The event was aimed at both private and public sectors including policy makers, LTP practitioners, fleet managers, Local Authorities, producers of sustainable biofuels, transport practitioners, and Climate Change officers. The morning session gave an overview of the BIONIC project including case studies and experience of using biofuels in transport in the North West . The afternoon session focussed on the role of sustainable biofuels in the development of LTP3 and considered how we can decarbonise transport and what opportunites we can develop in Merseyside.   • BIONIC -state-of-the-art practice review UPDATE (Nov 2009)
    This report outlines the existing status of biofuel use and gives information about existing biofuel initiatives across Europe and in each of the partner countries.
  • BIONIC -state-of-the-art policy review UPDATE (Nov 2009)
    The report provides an overview of the current policy regarding the use of biofuels in transport across the EU, and of recent development and debates, together with a summary of the policy position of each of the partner countries.
  • BIONIC - Regional Needs Analysis: Report on existing experiences and policy implication in the partner regions and communities (June 2008)
    This document is combined with the outputs of the wider state of the art review in work package 2, detailed survey information regarding the needs of the potential stakeholders within the various local networks, and an analysis of the specific barriers that are preventing development of the bio fuels supply and end use chain in each region. The inventory provides the complete baseline for the development of the regional networks.
  • BIONIC - Detailed definition of case study tasks in each region (July 2008)
    This report outlines the case studies from separate categories; Agricultural/Feedstock Supply, Waste Recycling/Collection and Biogas, Production Facilities, End Use, Promotion/Awareness Campaigns that will be undertaken by each of the project regions.
  • BIONIC User Needs Statement (August 2008)
    The regional needs statements outline the problems, barriers and opportunites to be investigated to facilitate a smooth implementation of biofuels and biofuel activities in the partner regions.
